Fidelity

What is Fidelity?
Fidelity is one of the three dimensions of Visibility Posture—Blastra's proprietary score for how your software shows up across third-party directories. Fidelity measures how faithfully your existing listings represent your product: right categories, right description, current brand name, accurate feature framing.
Fidelity is the directory-side expression of Entity Consistency—the industry-wide concept of presenting your product as a single coherent entity everywhere it appears. Inside Blastra, that concept is operationalized as a measurable dimension scored 0–100.
What Fidelity Catches
Fidelity surfaces the kinds of drift that quietly accumulate on every directory profile: misclassified categories, outdated brand names left over from a rebrand, descriptions that lead with the wrong product area, feature lists that reflect the roadmap of two years ago. Each issue looks small in isolation, but together they distort what buyers and AI systems see when they discover your product.
Low Fidelity hurts in two specific ways. For human buyers, a misclassified or stale listing breaks the path from search to shortlist. For AI systems, divergent product descriptions across platforms reduce entity confidence, which makes recommendations less likely.
Fidelity Within Visibility Posture
Fidelity sits alongside two other Visibility Posture dimensions: Reach (how many of the directories that matter you're actually on) and Reputation (what people say about you on those directories). The overall VP score weights all three, with outsized pull from the weakest—because broad Reach and strong Reputation lose meaning if every listing describes the wrong product.
Fidelity is also the dimension most directly improved by Software Listings Management. Treating profiles as a maintained surface—updating category, description, and feature framing everywhere when positioning evolves—is what keeps Fidelity from degrading over time.
