For a company selling software to large organizations, Gartner sits at the top of the credibility ladder. A Magic Quadrant placement or a Peer Insights Customers' Choice badge is proof an enterprise buying committee recognizes.
Getting into a Magic Quadrant is a long project, because each one sets its own inclusion criteria, usually a revenue or customer floor. The 2024 Magic Quadrant for SIEM required $75 million in revenue or 200 production customers. Evaluation then runs on a 12 to 24 month cycle of questionnaires, briefings and demos. Peer Insights is lighter, though its Customers' Choice designation still needs 20 or more eligible reviews in an 18-month window, and reviews from companies under $50 million in revenue do not count.
If that feels like too much for where your company is today, the directories below are a simpler place to start. We found 19 directories that list enterprise software, and 14 of them offer a free listing. Building a complete profile and collecting reviews here gives enterprise buyers, and the AI assistants they ask for recommendations, a consistent description of your product while you work toward Gartner.
We included every general-purpose directory in our database that accepts enterprise software, plus PeerSpot for enterprise IT, whatever our own relationship with each. We left out launch platforms, marketplaces, other vertical directories and Gartner Peer Insights itself, and list sites that share one profile (such as Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice) once. Selling to smaller companies instead? The Trustpilot alternatives list covers review sites for SMB and mid-market vendors.

It has a less professional appeal than Capterra and G2, although many B2B SaaS companies leverage Trustpilot very effectively. It is not quite a company directory (no information about founders, funding etc) but not really a product one either, somehow it reflects how business is conducted, so under software products you will find a lot of reviews regarding customer support, billing and general business attitude of a company. And those review stars often appear directly in Google search results as rich snippets.
Best for: Company-level reputation, which a buyer can check before your product reaches a shortlist.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are the best alternatives to Gartner for enterprise software vendors?
- For a vendor selling to large companies, good places to start are G2, whose Grid Reports and badges vendors use in procurement conversations; TrustRadius, for long-form vetted reviews in mid-market and enterprise deals; SoftwareReviews, which is backed by Info-Tech Research Group; Capterra, whose profile also feeds GetApp and Software Advice; and PeerSpot, which focuses on enterprise IT. Each accepts enterprise software and asks far less of a vendor than a Magic Quadrant evaluation.
- What does it take to get into a Gartner Magic Quadrant?
- Each Magic Quadrant publishes its own inclusion criteria, usually a revenue or customer-count floor plus geographic and product requirements. The 2024 Magic Quadrant for SIEM, for example, required $75 million in revenue or 200 production customers, and thresholds are reset every cycle. Vendors who qualify then go through a questionnaire, analyst briefings, demos and a factual review, on a cycle that runs 12 to 24 months. Our Magic Quadrant guide walks through the whole process.
- Is Gartner Peer Insights free to list on?
- Yes. Listing on Gartner Peer Insights is free. The harder part is the Customers' Choice designation, which needs 20 or more eligible reviews within an 18-month window, and Gartner excludes reviews from companies with less than $50 million in revenue. A vendor whose customers are mostly smaller companies can collect reviews there that never count toward the award. Our Peer Insights guide covers the review windows and freeze periods.
- Are Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice still part of Gartner?
- No. Gartner sold Capterra, GetApp and Software Advice to G2. The deal was announced on 29 January 2026 and closed in early February, and the three directories now operate under G2 as G2 Digital Markets. Gartner Peer Insights was not part of the sale and is now the only software directory Gartner runs, which is why it is the one directory this list leaves out.
- Should I skip Gartner altogether?
- Gartner and these directories suit different stages, so there is no need to choose. Peer Insights becomes worth pursuing once you have 20 or more customers at companies with $50 million or more in revenue who could review you within 18 months, and a Magic Quadrant once you clear its inclusion criteria. Until then, an accurate listing and a steady flow of reviews on the directories here gives buyers and AI assistants a consistent description of your product, and leaves you with a public track record when you are ready for Gartner.
- How is this list different from the G2 alternatives?
- The G2 alternatives list covers every general-purpose review site outside G2, for any B2B vendor. This list keeps only directories that accept enterprise software, includes G2 itself, and leaves out Gartner Peer Insights. If your buyers are smaller companies, the Trustpilot alternatives list is the better fit, since it excludes platforms that expect an enterprise track record.

How we curate this catalog
Editorially curated — we don't work with spam directories or freshly created sites. Before we add a directory, we check:
- Domain Rating (Ahrefs) of at least 40.
- Traffic starts at roughly 100k+ monthly visits for general directories (Similarweb).
- For niche directories, the same DR bar but a lower traffic threshold — sometimes around 10k — because a focused, relevant listing carries real value.
No paid placement — a spot in this catalog can't be bought.
