- How does the startup name generator work?
- You describe what your startup does and who it is for. The generator coins invented names the way Stanisław Lem coined words in The Futurological Congress - fusing real roots, adding status affixes and borrowing from myth - then gives each name a one-line definition and three domain candidates.
- Is “likely available” the same as available?
- No. We check each domain with RDAP, the registries’ public lookup protocol. If the registry has no record, we call it likely available - but premium, reserved and blocked names can also have no record. Open a name to get its exact status and price from a domain-research service before you buy.
- Is the trademark check legal clearance?
- No. It is a quick knockout against live and pending US federal (USPTO) marks with exact or close matches. It does not search state, common-law or foreign marks, and it cannot tell you whether a name is safe to use. Not legal clearance - consult a trademark attorney before you commit.
- What does it cost?
- Your first run of names is free with no email. Adding your email unlocks more runs per day and the trademark check. There are no payments.
- Where do the Register buttons go?
- To the registrar’s search page for that exact domain. Some registrar links may be affiliate links, which means Blastra may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Premium and marketplace domains never use affiliate links.
- What does Blastra have to do with naming?
- Blastra manages software listings on review sites like G2 and Capterra. Once you have a name and a domain, your listings are the next thing to claim.
