Connect Blastra to Claude
Blastra runs an MCP server, so you can connect your Blastra account to Claude and ask about your directory presence in plain language. Your assistant reads the same data you see in the app, and it can combine that data with everything else it already knows about your business.
The connector URL
This is the only piece of configuration you need:
https://mcp.blastra.ioThere is no API key to generate and no secret to paste. You sign in with your normal Blastra login and approve the connection once, the same way you would connect any other account.
Setting it up in Claude
- In Claude, open Settings and go to Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Give it a name (Blastra works) and paste
https://mcp.blastra.ioas the URL. - Click Connect. A Blastra page opens in your browser asking you to sign in, if you are not already.
- Review the consent screen. It names the account or accounts the connector will be able to read and where the data will be sent, then approve it.
- You land back in Claude with the connector enabled. Ask it “how is my directory presence doing?” to confirm it works.
The same URL works in any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP with OAuth. The wording of the menus differs, but the flow is the same: add a custom or remote MCP server, paste the URL, sign in, approve.
What your assistant can read
Seven read-only tools. Everything they return is data already visible to you in the Blastra app or on our public directory pages.
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
list_accounts | Which Blastra accounts this connector can read, and what it was granted. |
get_overview | The one-call answer to "how is my directory presence doing?", covering totals, work in flight, and anything Blastra is waiting on you for. |
get_presence | One row per product and directory, including the directories you are absent from, with review ratings, counts, and trends. |
get_operations | The work Blastra is doing for you, newest first, and who owes the next move. |
get_company_data | The company and product facts Blastra maintains and projects into your listings. |
list_directories | The full directory catalog available to your account, with cost, turnaround, reach, and who each site accepts. |
get_billing | Your current plan, what you have used, and which options you could move to. |
You do not need to name these tools when you talk to your assistant. Ask the question you actually have and it will pick.
Prompts to try
Start here
- “How is my directory presence doing?”
- “Is Blastra waiting on anything from me right now?”
- “Give me a one-paragraph summary of my Blastra account I can paste into our weekly update.”
Find the gaps
- “Which directories are we missing from, and which of those would you prioritise first?”
- “List every directory where we are absent but that accepts B2B products and is free to list on.”
- “We sell to enterprises in EMEA. Which directories in the catalog actually reach that audience?”
Reviews and reputation
- “Where do we have reviews, and what are reviewers actually saying?”
- “Has our review count moved since the last scan, and where?”
- “Which directory has our worst rating, and what is driving it?”
Planning and budget
- “What plan am I on, how many actions do I have left, and does that cover the gaps you just listed?”
- “What would it cost us in time and money to list on every directory we are missing from?”
- “Which directories require a launched product, and do we qualify?”
Keeping your own systems in sync
- “Compare the company description Blastra has on file against our current website homepage and flag anything stale.”
- “Draft a Slack update for #marketing covering what Blastra shipped for us this month.”
What the connector cannot do
It is read-only, deliberately and without exception. Connecting it cannot change anything about your account, and there is no setting that makes it able to.
- It cannot start or re-run a scan. It reports the results of the last one.
- It cannot submit, edit, or claim a listing, or change anything about the work in flight.
- It cannot change your plan, buy anything, or start a checkout. It can tell you what you are on and what the options cost, and it will point you at the billing page to act on it.
- It cannot edit your company or product data.
Access and revoking
The connector reads the Blastra accounts you are a member of, and nothing beyond them. If you belong to one account, your assistant uses it automatically. If you belong to several, ask about one by name and it will work out which you mean.
To disconnect, remove the connector in your assistant's settings. Access stops at that point. If you would like a connection revoked from our side, or you are not sure what is connected, get in touch and we will take care of it.
One current limitation worth knowing: accounts protected by multi-factor authentication cannot be connected yet, because the connector sign-in has no way to complete the second factor. If your account has MFA turned on, the connector will sign in but every request will return an error explaining this.
